Find accommodation in Feldkirch
Feldkirch is a medieval town (first mentioned in 1218) in the Austrian Alps, on the border with Switzerland and Liechtenstein; Germany is also easily reachable within 30-40 minutes on the Autobahn. The town is seat of the district with the same name and it is usually a transit destination for travellers, either for leisure or business.
The medieval atmosphere has been preserved, especially in the town centre where the Schattenburg castle overlooks the area which is now filled with cafés, libraries, bakeries, restaurants and more. The central square is the home if local events, notably the annual carnival (the Faschingsgilde) and the Christmas fair market - these are great occasions to explore the specifics of the local cuisine. Close to the centre there's a large forest (Ardetzenberg) lying on an elevated hill which is barley inhabited. Instead, on the forest trails you can see joggers and people enjoying the walk during all seasons. Next to the forest there's another attraction, the Wildpark: a reservation founded over 30 years ago.
Give the Alpine location, Feldkirch is surrounded by many popular world-class ski resorts which attract an impressive number of foreign tourists in the area.
